Absence Notifications
The Student Absence Notification System enables students to send notifications and documentation directly to their instructors for review based on their attendance policies. The form can be used for emergency absences such as illness, hospitalization, inclement weather, or death in the family. For information related to inclement weather and university updates, please visit the Safety & Communications webpage. Please use the link below to submit your absence notification request. If you have questions regarding absences, please reach out to your instructor directly.
Students should contact the Dean of Students Office if they are unable to submit the online request due to access issues or if they are facing an emergency or crisis. For assistance, please contact the Dean of Students Office at 512.245.2124.
Situations where the above form should not be used:
- Chronic illness or on-going medical conditions - Students with absences related to chronic or on-going medical conditions should contact Disability Services to learn more about their options and to register to receive accommodations.
- University-sponsored events - Students seeking excused absence related to university-sponsored events should review the University Policy and Procedure Statement 02.03.06 for more information.
- Military Active Duty - Students called to military active duty should follow procedures outlined in the Global Policy and Procedure Statement 02.08 Section 09.
